On the shortest day of the year, Joe Mecca and RSB gather around the square round table with Sir Russell and Saint Bobby for their annual pre-observation of FESTIVUS.
After getting a few housekeeping items out of the way (a shared distaste for jam bands and bland early 90s alt rock; the Mecca’s Christmas tree and holiday decorations; Saint Bobby’s shoutout to the Providence Animal Rescue League), Joe Mecca completes the requisite Feats of Strength (complete with RSB’s play-by-play).
More importantly, the two get into their Airing of Grievances. Joe gets philosophical on the dehumanization of life (comfort as a modern convention). RSB talks about the reality of her drinking and motivations behind her Dry January (names are named).
